You’ll learn about two different parts of French history, the royal era at Versailles and the Impressionist period at Giverny. Begin in central Paris, where you’ll board an air-conditioned coach to Versailles. There, you’ll skip the line and take a guided tour of the palace with a local guide. You’ll visit the Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Apartments, and other key rooms while hearing stories about life at the French court. After the palace tour, you’ll have free time to explore the Versailles Gardens on your own. From April to October, you may also see the Musical Gardens or Fountain Show, which are included on show days. You can have lunch in or near the gardens at one of the cafés or picnic areas. In the afternoon, travel by coach to Giverny, where Claude Monet lived and worked. On the way, your guide will share background information about Monet’s life.
